The Calendar is bilingual, Greek/Dutch, and contains the national (holi-) days and other special days of Greece, the Netherlands and Belgium.
It also contains the Greek name-days.
Concept of illustrations 2025
Once you’ve left your home-country to live somewhere else, whether by choice or circumstance, you are gradually encompassed by more than one history; your personal image-bank is enriched with new images that mingle with your own imprinted ones. At first they appear separately, one day the known ones, another day the newly discovered; at the back of your mind a contest is taking place, what’s nicer, older, best. With the passing of time they find peace with each other and you within them and in yourself. All dancers and monsters on stage; we can take it!
Illustrations info
The illustrations are hand-painted with watercolors on paper by S.Kapnissi. Based on and/or inspired by:
Πήλινα ειδώλια / Terracotta figurines; theme: dancers and flying Nike (Victory)
Produced in workshops in the wider area of ancient Greece; between 4th and 2nd c. BC.
